"AFTER DARK IN THE PARK"

This is a popular event on the Big Island. The Kona Outdoor Circle-a non-profit organization sponsors a benefit whale watch cruise aboard the Fair Wind. You will enjoy tuning into -- island's celebrity guitarist John Keawe's hauntingly beautiful music. Don't forget to watch the loveable whales in action as they perform various tricks. You will also relish the tasty pupus (snacks) and drinks.
Hilo's Chinese New Year's Festival

This is one of the most popular festivals on the Big Island. Join the celebration of Chinese New Year at the beautiful Kalakaua Park. You will enjoy watching the live entertainment, and fireworks. 
Kids will be delighted to see the Lion Dancers parade around town blessing all!. There's even a cookery contest held between amateur and professional celebrity chefs. Also, Food, art, craft and Chinese and Asian product vendors will be featured along with the entertainment.

This is one of the most popular festivals on the Big Island. Twice a year the Hawaii Wood Guild sponsors shows for local wood workers. You will enjoy watching the best local wood artistry and craftsmanship on the Big Island. Some of the fascinating entries for wood products--furniture, sculpture, turned bowls boats, wall hangings, paddles, rocking horses, and other carvings made from locally grown wood. Awards are given for the best entries. 
International Nights '03

Music-lovers will be thrilled to attend this annual musical event on the Big Island. International Nights has been presented by the International Student Association for over 26 years. 
It includes International musical performances. Some of the countries participating in this musical extravaganza are --- Japan, USA, West Africa, Hawaii, the Philippines, Mexico, France and Korea. 
You will be fascinated by the various cultural programs put up by the International and Campus students. These programs are inclusive of beautiful dance performances and cultural music. 
Ukulele Festival

This is one of Big Island's annual events. Ukulele Festival offers a fun-filled evening of Hawaii's biggest ukulele entertainers. 
You will enjoy strolling through Kings' Shops and visiting the exhibit booths to learn how ancient Hawaiian musical instruments were made. 
8th Annual Kona Brewer's Festival

This is one of Big Island's annual events. Set under swaying palm trees on the shores of Kailua Bay, the Kona Brewers Festival "Taps the Tropics" with 30 Hawaii and mainland breweries serves 60 types of assorted tap and bottle beer. 
You will enjoy the Toe-tapping bluegrass, Hawaiian music, fun-filled contests and fire dancers round out the day. The event raises funds for environmental and cultural organizations.
